Making TV images without a video camera at the University of Illinois, the Beck Direct Video Synthesizer constructed images using form, shape, color, texture, and motion.

Wrinkles was an artificial intelligence talking dog and puppet with seven sensors and a vocabulary of over 2,500 sentences, laughs, barks and moans.
