Stephen “Steve” Beck is an American artist, inventor, writer, high tech toy and game designer, educator, entrepreneur, educator and mentor who pioneered video synthesis and interactive video art from the pre-digital era through the present post-digital days.

Editions of his video artworks are in collections worldwide including the Museum of Modern Art New York, The Pompidou Center Paris, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Tokyo Museum of Contemporary Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art New York, among many others.

Upcoming exhibitions of Video Weavings are scheduled for “Electric Dreams” at The Tate Modern in London in November 2024, and also in “Electric Op” at the BuffaloAKG Art Museum in September 2024, then moving to the Musée d’arts de Nantes, Nantes, France in 2025.

His BeckHaus Studios La Florida is now in full operation after expanding from over half a century in the north hills of Berkeley, California. Beck added The Sunshine State to The Golden State.
